1. Who we are

Laji (“we”, “us”) operates the Laji asset registry platform at laji.cm and related services. For privacy questions, contact hello@laji.cm or use our contact page.

2. Information we collect

• Account data — name, phone, email, location, Laji ID, password credentials.
• Asset & tag data — asset details, purchase value, images, receipts, tag codes, and status (active, lost, stolen, recovered).
• Emergency / medical (optional) — blood group, genotype, doctor contact, and notes you choose to share on scan.
• Transport parcels — trip route, vehicle, parcel labels, and contact details provided by operators or you.
• Usage data — scans, device/browser signals, and basic analytics needed to operate and secure the service.

3. How we use information

• Provide registration, verification, finder portal, and trip tracking.
• Show only the fields you enable for public or emergency scans.
• Operate merchant deals, support requests, and platform security.
• Improve product performance and prevent abuse.

4. What finders see

When someone scans a tag, they see only the information you have marked visible for that context (for example name/phone for a lost item, or medical fields for an emergency tag). Your vault documents and full dashboard remain private.

5. Sharing

We share data with infrastructure providers (hosting, payments, email) needed to run Laji, with merchants/operators for services you use, and when required by law. We do not sell your personal data.

6. Retention

We keep account and tag records while your identity is active and as needed for security, fraud prevention, and legal obligations. You may request account deletion from profile settings or by contacting us.

7. Security

Tags point to your profile rather than storing personal data on the sticker. We use access controls and industry-standard hosting practices. No method of transmission is 100% secure.

8. Your choices

• Update profile and privacy toggles in the dashboard.
• Choose what appears on scan for name, phone, emergency, and medical fields.
• Request correction or deletion via support.

9. Children

Laji is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child provided data, contact us so we can delete it.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. We will revise the “Last updated” date when we do. Continued use means you acknowledge the updated policy.
